The problem it prevents
You have been told to pick one: a baffle bag for shape, or a barrier liner for protection.
That trade-off is not necessary. If you are already buying baffle bags, it is worth asking what liner goes inside them today, and whether it gives you any barrier at all. Usually it does not.

What it is
A baffle or gambo liner has internal baffles that stop the liner bulging as it fills, and hold the whole assembly in a square, stackable shape. It does the same job as a net baffle bag, but at liner level. This means the shape control comes together with whatever barrier or static properties the liner material provides.
It is available in EVOH, multilayer film and conductive materials.
