PE Box Type Liner
Two problems solved by one change
Oxygen barrier with the handling behaviour of PE
The loss shows up as a quality complaint, not as a packaging complaint. Products that oxidise, lose their aroma, change colour or break down in the presence of oxygen need a barrier that polyethylene on its own cannot give.
If your quality team is seeing shelf life complaints they cannot explain, oxygen coming through the liner is worth ruling out first.
EVOH is specified where oxygen is what spoils the product.
EVOH has an excellent barrier property against oxygen and the outside atmosphere. It is used as the barrier layer where oxygen getting in is the controlling problem.
The EVOH layer is co-extruded between polymer layers, so it gives an oxygen barrier while keeping the sealing behaviour and flexibility of an ordinary PE liner.
We have built EVOH into box type and baffle constructions, not just plain tube liners. This means you can have oxygen protection and shape control together instead of choosing between them, which is where most suppliers stop.
We will run a side-by-side trial with you: one batch in your current liner, one in EVOH, checked at the same interval.
Every one of these can be changed for your application, and a sample is supplied for trial fitment before bulk production.
Send us the problem
Every product we make is built to order, so the conversation starts with your specification rather than with our price list. Sample liners and trial covers are supplied for fitment before bulk production begins.
