Product is lost as residue clinging to a dirty drum. Drums are scrapped or sent for expensive cleaning because the product touched the wall. And every time the drum is opened, the batch inside picks up moisture and dust, which shortens its usable life.

A dispensing spout is fitted to the liner in the factory, and it changes the way a drum is opened and emptied. With a normal liner, the whole drum has to be opened every time material is taken out. The full contents are exposed to air, moisture and dust on every single occasion. With the integrated spout, the operator draws only the quantity needed and the rest of the material stays sealed inside the liner.
Because the product never touches the drum wall, the drum stays clean for its whole working life. It can go back to the manufacturer through the distributor and be used again, instead of being scrapped or sent for costly reconditioning. For operations with sustainability targets or extended producer responsibility duties, this turns a throwaway drum into a returnable asset.
We developed the spout fitment as a factory-sealed joint, not a field-fitted add-on. The seal around the spout is the weak point in this kind of product, so it is welded under controlled conditions on our own line and tested before dispatch. We have run this fitment across PE, EVOH, aluminium laminate and conductive films, which means you do not have to give up barrier or static protection to get a spout.
Every one of these can be changed for your application, and a sample is supplied for trial fitment before bulk production.

It is a liner fitted inside a drum with a discharge spout welded into it, so product is drawn off through the spout rather than by opening the drum. The drum stays clean and reusable, residue is not left clinging to the wall, and the batch is not exposed to moisture and dust every time it is opened. GI PackTech makes these to the drum, in any internal diameter from 6 to 100 inches.
Yes. Spout size, spout type and spout position are all specified per order, along with liner diameter, height, gusset shape, bottom shape and film structure. The liner is built to your drum rather than to a size the supplier already runs, which is what allows an existing drum fleet and filling line to be kept exactly as they are.
The seal around the spout is the usual failure point in this kind of product, which is why GI PackTech makes it a factory-sealed joint rather than a field-fitted add-on. It is welded under controlled conditions on our own line and tested before dispatch, so the joint is not being made in a warehouse by whoever is holding the liner.
Lubricants and base oils, specialty chemicals, food-grade liquids, inks and adhesives — in practice any operation where the same drum is opened repeatedly and the product is worth more than the packaging. The heavier the reuse cycle, the more the spout pays for itself, because the drum never needs cleaning and the residue never becomes waste.
