Aluminium 5-Layer and 6-Layer Liner
Every layer specified for a job we can explain
Almost total barrier against moisture, oxygen and gas
A catalyst or intermediate that picks up moisture in transit can be worth many times the value of the whole packaging order. The rejection happens at the destination, thousands of kilometres away, where nobody can inspect anything until it is too late.
For products that spoil on contact with moisture, oxygen or light, a plain polyethylene liner is not enough.
An aluminium layer stops what polyethylene alone lets through.
The aluminium barrier drum liner uses a layer of aluminium foil laminated between polymer layers. This gives an almost total barrier against gas and moisture, with very little passing through even at the heat-seal.
This construction is used where the product has to stay in exactly the same condition over a long storage or shipping period, and keep both its original physical form and its chemical properties.
Our development work has been on the seal. A barrier film is only as good as its weakest seal, and most barrier failures happen there rather than through the film. Our 5-layer and 6-layer structures are built and sealed so that permeation at the seal stays minimal, which is what makes the barrier claim real over a long voyage.
Every one of these can be changed for your application, and a sample is supplied for trial fitment before bulk production.
